Smart’s Forvision

Smart’s Forvision This is the Smart Forvision Concept by the Smart brand for the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show. As an electrical car, the Forvision hints at what the subsequent-generation Smart ForTwo mini hatchback could seem like.

In developing the Forvision, especially the advanced technologies present in the thought, Smart worked with BASF, the world’s largest chemical company. Its platform was developed together with the Renault-Nissan alliance. Standout features include revolutionary plastic wheels that weigh about 3kg (6.6 pounds) under an aluminum rim and the usage of carbon fiber-reinforced epoxy resin within the construction of the passenger compartment and doors, leading to weight savings of as much as 50 percent in comparison to steel and 30 percent in comparison to aluminum.

The ForVision concept is powered by an electrical drivetrain that utilizes a solar roof to give additional energy for its batteries. We can have more details on its specs within the near future.
